Yoiks! Actually there appear to be 3 distnoted processes, but only one eats up the CPU. > Running Emacs, a process named "distnoted" starts around 1% or 2% of the CPU, and after a while, slowly works its way up to 50% to 100% of the CPU. > I use Emacs on Mac OS X, Mavericks, Intel MacBook Pro, downloaded from. > Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug, and > usually do not have translators for other languages. > Please write in English if possible, as the Emacs maintainers > to one day, you should receive an acknowledgment at that address. > the From: line contains a valid email address. > This bug report will be sent to the Bug-GNU-Emacs mailing list ![]() ![]() I monitored the trunk build for a whole workday, about 8 hours. I once managed to get a distnoted process to use 1.2 percent CPU, but otherwise they where steady at 0 - 0.3 % no matter what I did in Emacs. Does it happen when you start with -Q and then do nothing else? I tried with trunk and downloaded binaries from the site (release and latest).
